Articles on the Books of the Old Testament will be published here as they are prepared for various adult Sunday School and Bible Study activities.  Note that apocryphal books - Tobit, Judith, Esther (with additional text), 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Wisdom, Sirach, additonal text to Daniel and Esther - are cecogninzed as canonical by the Roman Catholic Church but not by Jewish or Protestant denominations in general.

The Old Testament, as the Christian Churches usually recognize it, is made up of thirty-nine different books attributed to many different authors.  The Christian division of the contents and the literary form of these writings is as follows:
